The Lorax

This weekend I decided to watch The Lorax which is a film based off of the Dr. Seuss children’s book. I had heard from my little brother and sister and a few of my friends that this movie was very good and even had humor suited for adults as well. I typically and not a huge fan of animated movies and children’s movies but I will say this movie was a pleasant surprise and it not only awakened the kid in me but it made me more open to certain types of movies.
The movie takes place in a town called Thneedville and it is a town where absolutely everything is processed. All the food is chemically made and is like jello. In this town because everything is manufactured you find the air is too dirty to breathe so you have to buy your own clean air. Well this boy finds his way outside Thneedville and he finds that everything is destroyed and their is no vegetation. He sets out to get a real tree for a girl he admires and ends up finding out the history of the “Thneed” the Lorax and how this world came to be so environmentally horrific. I would definitely recommend this film to people of any age, do not underestimate it, it is very very well done and very entertaining.
4.7/5 Thneeds
