Casablanca

Casablanca
In the movie of Casablanca, I’m really touched by Rick. After he got that letter, he really could just ran off and care nothing about others. But, he doesn’t do that. Because he still loves Lisa Lund who is married to Victor Laszlo, he is able to face the consequence being arrest by Nazis’ and he consist on giving the letter to Laszlo and wants he and his wife to be safe. Although Rick is being mad at Lisa when she won’t leave with him to Parris, but after he find out the reason why she is not going, he forgives her. And he knows what Lisa means to Laszlo, so he chooses to walk away. So, his love conquers all and this is the only reason that the Laszlo couple could be safe and happy ever after.
But, Captain Louis Renault also plays an important role in this movie. Renault being an officer, he is supposes to do the right thing. But when Rick kills the officer at the airport, he orders his men to find out all the suspicious men and arrest them. And by doing this, he makes Rick safe. And he clearly knows that Rick helps a young couple win the gambling and get enough money to leave for the States. So, basically he is in a battle that against Nazis’, which is hard to do in his position.
And the last scene, audience saw that Rick and Renault walking away together in the fog and he is persuading Rick to join the army that against the Nazi. And this symbolize there is a battle going on.
So I think this movie is focus on humanity that people can have under the chaos and the pressure. Rated 4/5
