Gone With The Wind

Gone With The Wind
Directed by Victor Fleming
Review by Aurora, Wang Yi
I read the book couple month ago and watch it at this weekend. In the book Gone With The Wind, “ Tomorrow is another day” is the last sentence. This sentence also goes though and the whole movie.
This movie is about human verse society and human verse himself. I think almost movies come up with these two themes, but this one makes me think a lot. Civil War is a time period, which is full of chaos. Scarlett lives in this surrounding. She tried her best to make a living and keep other people alive. During that time, she was always misunderstanding because she is a woman. It is a rough time for woman who wants to do the things man do.
On the other hand, this is also the time for Scarlett’s growth. She changed herself form a girl to a powerful woman. She challenged the culture of that society. I remember my mum said, “ She was hard on both life and emotion”, when I read that book. At that time, I said well, that was just a story, but I understand now. Scarlett’s live not only is a story, but also presents a social phenomenon on women’s position.
All in all, “ Tomorrow is another day” is the sentence let Scarlett can continue walk on the way she suppose to.
